What is the life expectancy of my Air Con system?

How often you run your system, the system’s age, its make and model, and whether or not it was serviced regularly over the course of its life can all play a significant role in how long your system will last. Air conditioner to last approximately 15 /20 years.

Do air conditioning units provide cooling and heating?

Modern units that include heat pumps provide heating in addition to cooling. This is often very economical to run when compared to other forms of heating systems.

How often do I need my Air con serviced

Generally, it's recommended to service your air conditioning system annually to ensure it's running efficiently and to catch any potential issues before they become significant problems. However, factors like schools, gyms are typically serviced more frequently due to heavy usage and the need to maintain air quality.

How long are your time frames? Why are they so long and can you provide a more accurate time?

INDOOR UNIT LEAKING WATER

clogged drain line is the most common or broken pump which removes water from the fan coil.

UNIT NOT HEATING

Check the controller is set to heat mode and the temperature is set higher then the room temperature, around 23-25*c on the controller.

UNIT NOT COOLING

Check the controller is set to cool mode and set the temperature to around 19*c. Dirty air filters will also reduce the units cooling capacity.

INDOOR UNIT HAS A FLASHING LIGHT

This often indicates an error with the system. You can try resetting the system by turning off the power supply to the unit, wait a few minutes then turn back on. If problem returns then an engineer would be required.

UNIT EMITS A FOUL ODOUR

Dirty air filters or evaporator coil can lead to unpleasant odours, a maintenance visit would be needed.

UNIT STARTS THEN STOPS

This could be due to low refrigerant, a leak on the system.

UNIT WONT TURN ON

check the fuse board for a tripped fuse or the isolator has been turned off.

UNIT MAKING A STRANGE NOISE

(A) buzzing or humming noise could indicate electrical issues, turn system off and contact icool. (B) Squealing or screeching may suggest a problem with the fan motor. (C) Gurgling noise often occur when there is a refrigerant leak. Turn Off the unit and contact icool.
